Nice was one of the 1 day stopping points on our 1998 organised tour of Europe, and as you can imagine, 1 day wasn't nearly enough, but it showed us a little and especially that we need to come back again next time!
the 'beach', such as these round hard pebbles are called.
The esplanade/waterfront right in Nice itself.
- Pros:Turquoise waters, palm trees, great stone French building
- Cons:Their large pebbe beach not worth raving over, at least to an Aussie used to white sand
- In a nutshell:Gorgeous coastline, fascinating city, very photogenic

I keep wanting to see this area; perhaps it will happen; til then, I'll enjoy wonderful descriptions and pictures vicariously through pages such as yours.
I am planning a trip to Nice in just a little over a year from now. It looks beautiful.

I went to Eze Village for the first time last month -it's beautiful. Did you walk down to the sea from there? We did, a real knee-trembler!
