This symbolic site, though difficult to see in this photo, characterizes München, though this park was actually inspired by an American designer. The long and troubled attempts to display peace to the world deserve a well stated 'Thank You' from those who visit this beautiful, wealthy city.
One of those touristy things to do that shows you the layout of the city is a bus tour (like this one pictured) that introduces the traveller to its great expanse. München is rather large, so while walking and biking are popular, a visitor might find it a challenge without using public transportation often. The U-bahn and S-bahn is a great network that will quickly whisk you to distant locations inexpensively.
Numerous tour companies offer short 1-2 hour guided tours, others are a half day excursion including the bier halls and oompah pah bavarian hospitality that abounds in this enjoyable city. |
