Favorite Thing: Visit the Museum Quarter. Built on the site of the Emporer's former stables, it is a remarkable tour-de-force in Architecture. Embellished by the grandiose buildings that surround you here are numerous statues, fountains and colorful gardens.

Favorite Thing: Twin museums facing each other in the museum quarter just outside of the Hofburg Palace, historians delight. Of the two, Kunsthistorisches is home to the greatest collection of paintings. Also contains an armory, historical musical instruments, statues, where one can wander the royal halls alone, undisturbed, in awe.
