I took a day tour from Salzburg to Werfen to see this claim-to-be the world's largest ice cave where men can get access to. I had fun in the cave! I loved the cool and refreshing air in it and it indeed was something I had never seen before. Highly recommanded if you asked me. :o)

A lonnnggg way to get there...ohh, my legs!!!

The only thing I didn't like was the long steep hike up there. It was very warm that day. I'm a real city girl, and that hike was killing me!!! I was not informed of the long hike at all. All I read in the guide book was a cable car up there, then an approximately 15 minute walk to the cave entrance. I think it took me at least 40 minutes to get there. Uphills, most of the time!!! On the other hand, if you love hiking, it's a great half-a-day getaway.

But it was all worthy!
Isn't it fasinating??!! Actually, visitors are not supposed to take photos inside for safety reasons. We are expected to watch where we are going in the caves as it is quite slippery in some parts. However, our tour guide didn't seem to mind us taking photos. He even waited out for us to take photos. We were lucky!! A guy in front of me might have taken 70822907 pics. I think he couldn't help it, cuz it was an once-in-a-life-time chance!!! You should definitely check it out yourself!

An interesting page, Maranda ! ..and it is really a shame that I could do this as a daytrip from my home and have never done it :-(((
