Mount Tremblant is an incredible skiers resort - for the East, of course. Highly regarded as a new world-class destination (both for skiing and Amenities) Tremblant raises the bar for Northeastern (wayyyy Northeastern) destinations for skiing bliss. Run by the all powerful Intrawest chain, (ie Whistler/Blackcomb/Snowshoe/Stra tton) these guys took the second oldest ski run in North America and turned it into an unbelieveable contendor for the ski resort market. This is not just a hill, it's a full experience. Think Las Vegas (without the wild side - you are in the mountains of Canada) on a small scale, focusing on skiing and not gambling, and there you have it. Great skiing, lots of varied terrain, quality snow control, and a beautiful replicated Quebecios French village add to the appeal (not to mention the exchange rate for spoiled US citizens like myself) The only drawback is the abundance of 18 year olds drinking heavily in the nightlife picture Makes you feel old even though you're not! my only complaint is that I often was left with the feeling that no matter what I was doing, someone was after my money. But that's tourism at it's finest, right (or should I say Eh?) |
