...or The Temple of Emerald Budhha is regarded as the most significant and important of all Thai temples, and the small green-jade statue of the Buddha, high on its golden altar in the Chapel Royal, is the most sacred image in Thailand. Today, there are alot of worshippers from all over the country and other walks of life come to visit and pay respect this sacred statue. But, when you enter in the temple you can't take a picture inside. So, my picture here is not the Statue-it's only the Wat. Note: All the very important tel. #'s in the Grand Palace is in my Bangkok Page.

..or The Reclining Buddha and a Wat Phra Chetuphon as it is generally known to the Thais, is mainly famous for the huge Reclining Buddha. It is the largest Wat in Bangkok, and is technically the oldest too, as it was built around 200 years before Bangkok became Thailand's capital. The highly impressive gold plated reclining Buddha is 46 meters long and 15 meters high, and is designed to illustrate the passing of the Buddha into nirvana. The feet and the eyes are engraved with mother-of-pearl decoration, and the feet also show the 108 auspicious characteristics of the true Buddha. Note: Aircon buses 6, 8 and 12 all stop close to Wat Pho, and the Tha Tien express boat pier is very near. Ordinary buses that go near Wat Pho are ordinary buses 1, 25, 44, 47, 62 and 91 which stop on Maharat road. 44, 47 and 91 all stop on Thaiwang road, on the north side of Wat Pho, south of Wat Phra Kaew. It's also just a short river crossing away from Wat Arun.

When you enter the large ground of Wat Pho you will witnessed more than a thousand buddha images in total, mostly are from the Ayuthaya and Sukhothai which are the former capitals of the country hundreds of years ago. The grounds are split in two by Chetuphon road. The northern section is generally the only one most people go to, and it includes a large bot (temple hall), enclosed by 394 bronze Buddha images. Outside the bot, there are 152 marble slabs depicting the second half of the epic Ramakian story. Btw, all of the facts here are the ones that I had read. There are also a massive 91 others Chedis of varying sizes arounds the grounds, along with chapels, rock gardens, an array of different types of statues, inscriptions, belltowers and resident fortune tellers. The library is nearby too, decorated impressively with figures and pagodas made of porcelain, in much the same way as Wat Arun across the river. The Wat Arun only a few walk where it's across the river.( Tha Tien Pier)

..or The Temple of Dawn...is mostly known as a landmark of Bangkok. It consists of a tall Phra Prang (Khmer-style tower) and surrounded by four smaller Prangs. The most attractive structure of Wat Arun is the center 79-meter high pagoda or Phra Prang decorated with mosaic of multi-colors Chinese porcelain. The outer four corners are Prangswhich hold statues of Phra Phai (god of the wind). The best time to go visit in this temple is during the sunset. You can view from the other side of Caho Phraya River. In my own point of view, this temple is okey if you'll just view it from the river as it's more lovely from afar than to ge there!

The democracy monument was Constructed in 1932 to commemorate Thailand's first constitution. This monument is located at Ratchadamnoen Avenue. I seen this one always when we passed by to the Grand Palace but then, when a friend just visited last August we fancy stopping there in the center and took a pictures of those pretty flowers. It was an experience!

I've been eating in this restaurant for almost a year as we're in Bangkok for almost a year now! They serve delicious Fried Cradb with Curry. And if you happen to come along in Bangkok, do go visit in this place. Not expensive, serves a great stuff of seafoods that are to die for! I mean, if you love thai foods, this is the best place! If you have any questions about this place, email me!
