in 1990 I took two week trip to britain to see what rural life was like there .We traveled london and the south coast .It was my impression that the west country devon/cornwall has been developed the most for tourism . I traveled by bus and was mostly to well known tourist locales . The agriculture seems be quite modern ,I notice national trust seems be a big player in coastal England. I am planing to return but the foot mouth stopped me for this year.
