The old danish town in Sweden

Malmö, and indeed Skåne has only been Swedish since the mid 1600. So understanding its history is a study in the history in bouth Denmark and Sweden. This is perticulary visible when visiting the castle.

The inhabitants

The population in Malmö is quite diverse. In respect to it's population it is the city with the most imigrants (of which I must consider myself). In this town it's just as probable that you'd run into a non-Swedish as a Swedish. That means that you can hear a lot of languages here just by walking the streets. English is widely understood, and some even speak Swedish.
