I currently live here, and I must say it has a certain charm. I'm used to large cities, as I grew up in LA, Sacramento, have lived in San Jose and throughout the East Bay area. But I ke this atmosphere. I'm a traveler, but I have decided to start a business here, and plan to spend some time here, perhaps even purchase property. I expecially love Ashland. If you've ever known the sophisticated, yet quaint charms of Davis California, you would fall in love with Ashland. My only complaint... is there's no coastline for 2 hours! And I'm a cancer, and need the water. Brookings and Gold Beach is close enough though.
