I Adore San Salvador!

Volcano Looms Over San Salvador
In January, 2002, my husband and I traveled to El Salvador to visit our son who is living and working there. With him as an expert (and fluent Spanish speaking) guide, we loved every bit of our adventure! We spent four days in San Salvador which is an interesting, bustling, and (in places) hip capital city. Then we toured the Eastern part of the country which combines beautiful landscapes (including volcanoes and beaches) with small villages that were touched by the war that ended only 10 years ago.

Pros:"Friendly people, interesting sights"
Cons:"Heavy traffic and air pollution from diesel buses"
In A Nutshell:"Interesting spot but make sure to explore other Salvadoran places"
