You should see all of the touristy things - the bridge, opera house etc. You have to go to these places and take photos just to prove you've been. The whole area around the opera house is really nice to walk around on a summer evening. If you get the chance to take in a performance, do so. I went to see a comedy show which didn't eventuate but I still enjoyed myself.

It's the beach most people think of when they think of Australia. I was a little disappointed with the size of it - I thought it would be bigger. I wouldn't swim there myself but it is good for peoplewatching. You can either just sit on the steps or get a drink at one of the cafes on Campbell Parade.

As far as animals go, Taronga doesn't have the widest variety I've seen, but the setting for the zoo is incredibly beautiful. You can take some beautiful photos of the bridge from here. Catch the ferry over and then take one of the buses up to the top. If you can afford it, take the chairlift. TIP: If you want to buy anything in the giftshop, make it first on your agenda otherwise you will have to trek back up the hill. Try to catch one of the seal shows because they are really cute. I saw Campbell, who was training and didn't want to jump off of the rock and into the water. Also, look out for the Fjordland penguins and the extra-long cow statue.
