Although I have never been, I would be silly not to mention what is possibly the world's most famous Christmas market. It is certainly Germany's. In the Market Place, from the first of Advent every year, there is an explosion of stalls selling everything for your great holiday. Just expect a huge crowd from all over the world, and book your accommodation well in advance.
