Why do I make a page on Brugge (Bruges)? Everyone has done it before me as it is such a tourist town...

Well, the simple answer is that I like the town too much not to. Every time we got visitors during our time in Brussels they were taken there and sometimes I just went there with my family on a daytrip since it's so close to Brussels. Another reason is actually that I love photography and Brugge is a very photogenic town. I want to share that info with you since I'm not the only "photographer" here on VT.

Brugge is a fantastically picturesque town and therefore can get very crowded (especially 2002 when it has been the European Capital of Culture) so if you can, try to go on a weekday and out of season but if you can't - JUST GO. It is a must if you're in Belgium.

Pros and Cons

Pros:picturesque, good food, sights, compact
Cons:tourists everywhere, rain
In a nutshell:Go there, it's an order!

what the ??? do you realize that thousands of people live in this city? if you think the whole of the city is a tourist trap, then i guess you have just been a typical tourist only seeing the touristy part of it...
