If Turku dissappointed me during this trip, Naantali made up for it. Positively oozing charm, not by the bus station, but by its Old Town by the waterfront. Famous for being the home of the Moomins internationally, this town should be more famous for what the Finns already know; its history, architecture and archipelago. They call it the Sunshine Town themselves.

The reason people settled here was a convent in medieval days, probably built here because of the good quality water, as later in the 18th century, people came for the spa. The spa tradition lives on as you can see from the accommodation tip...
