"Birds and seaside" Skanör med Falsterbo by Sjalen

Skanör med Falsterbo Travel Guide: 17 reviews and 18 photos

Skanör and Falsterbo are two old fishing villages that have almost grown together by now which is why they are always mentioned together. They can be found 30 km south of Malmö on a tiny strip of land protruding into the Baltic Sea. Falsterbo is the southernmost, but also facing eastwards as the land bends a bit. Famous for its lighthouse where hundreds of bird lovers gather in spring and autumn to watch migrating birds, it is also slightly more posh than Skanör. The latter is known for its old inn, with what could possibly be the world's only zebra crossing for geese! :-) It is also full of cheerful cottages. Both have long stretches of sandy beaches and are very popular in summer.

Looks like a lovely area. Might drop in to see the two villages before getting onto the Oresund bridge on our way back from Scandinavia. Thanks for the tip.
