The reason I haven't made a page of Borlänge is that I don't have any photos. However, now I have decided to add some form of content to all my visited destinations, you will get a small page.
I was in Borlänge quite a few times in the 90s when I had a boyfriend from here and although it is not Sweden's most charming town, I had fun. Say Borlänge to a Swede and we think of quite a boring town, full of people working shifts at the local steel mill. This also means that things can get lively here in the pubs in the evenings, although it is a perfectly safe place for the average visitor. Borlänge also houses two state authorities dealing with communications: the railway and road Agencies.
"Bolanche" as the locals call it, is hardly your first destination in Sweden, but it is a bit unfair to say there is nothing to do here. The great Dala River flows through the town and along it, you will find several picturesque villages full of red wooden cottages. There is also a surprising music life here, with a few bands making it nationally in the last decade. |
