Bönor & blad: Coffe and chocolate

What makes this place cosy is its friendly owners who will recommend all sorts of chocolate, tea or whatever you have come to buy. That, and the fact that you don't expect a place like this in little Dalby makes it a great place to visit for a coffee break or just a bit of praline purchasing for your further journey. The pralines are not homemade but from Germany, but nevertheless very nice. The coffee is of high quality and it is nice to just sit on a stool and sip it, looking out at the bus station where people come and go. You can also buy delicatessens such as raspberry vinegar, various oils and condiments and so on.

Favorite Dish: Lemon pralines :)

Dalby Gästis: Scanian inn

This is yet another of all the famous Scanian inns with a tradition, and the current inn has been in existance since 1874, although Dalby has had inn privileges since 1642 when it must have been very lively here given how Sweden and Denmark kept battling it out over Scania in the Lund countryside!

I have not yet eaten here but such an establishment deserves a mentioning. On the menu are lots of local food, not least the local egg cake dish which I work my way around Scanian inns trying :))) As I write this in summer 2007, the place is up for sale but only because the owner is getting too old and with a history like this, I think a new owner will keep up its reputation.
