CAPE VERDE IS A SMALL NATION OF 10 ISLANDS (9 INHABITED) RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ATLANTIC OCEAN. LESSER KNOWN THAN THE AZORES, ITS MIDWAY BETWEEN PORTUGAL AND BRAZIL. SINCE THE INVENTION OF JET AVIATION IT HAS SERVED AS AN AIR REFUELLING STOP AND LITTLE LESE. THAT WAS UNTIL DEVELOPERS REALISED THAT A POOR, SPARSELY POPULATED SET OF ISLANDS WOULD MAKE A GOOD EUROPEAN BEACH RESORT. THEY ARE NOW PROCEEDING TO BUILD ROADS ON THE ISLAND OF SAL WHERE NONE HAVE EVER EXISTED. YOU CAN SEE THE CRANES DOMINATE THE SKYLINE RATHER THAN THE NATURAL BEAUTY. CAPE VERDE WILL BECOME ANOTHER OVER BUILT EURO RESORT SOON. IT’S A SHAME.

Interesting places that you have been to, Dao!How good that you had another VT'er as a travelling companion. The Blue Eye certainly lives up to its name- that water is SO blue!

Those warm beaches look very appealing right about now. We have snow again today. Lots of Cape Verdeans living in and around Providence, RI. Hmmmm... bet they're sorry today in this cold! PS... didn't find a fireman.
