Zanzibar Town Travel Guide: 245 reviews and 643 photos
Stone Town is the story of Zanzibar itself. Old wooden Omani doors open up into huge cavernous buildings full of families that fear their collapse during the rainy season. British colonial architecture and even a French Cathedral view with the markets and Mosques to form the crazy narrow streets that make up a fantastic mosaic of life. From the Arab Fort you can see the port that brought colonial powers and sea traders. You can also glimpse the incredible natural beauty that not only is on Zanzibar Island, but is surrounded by it.
KARIBU STONE TOWN! Welcome!
- Pros:HISTORY, GREAT FOOD, INTERESTING THINGS TO SEE
- Cons:EASY TO GET LOST (NOT FOR LONG)
- In a nutshell:COLLISION OF EMPIRE, ARAB, AFRICAN & INDIAN CULTURE

Your page here seems to show the real Stone Town. I just saw a show called "Grannie on Safari" where they went to Stone Town and they made it look interesting & exotic and not run down; different from what it really seems to be in your photos!
Great tips and coments.
Estamos recordando Los buenos momentous que pasamos en Zanzibar
There is a very nice sites in this area, I note, and the Dispensary looks elegant the most. YOu did a good job of taking the pictures and comments, as always.
Why do they have sticks all the time? Is that used for protection or something? This is very cultural! I just love it!
Travelling in the Dala dala really adds to the island experience don't you think? ;-)
Happy Birthday my friend. Happy travels, Karl
