Gaborone has a small historical area that can be explored in minutes really. The outlying urban sprawl can put you off coming into the centre, but its actually the most tranquil part of the city, especially on a Sunday. Have a gentle stroll around and enjoy your lunch outside. It’s a shame all Capital cities don’t have this small town charm.

    Dao- good informative tips on Gaberone, with nice photos. I agree re SPAR shops! LOL! They are still popular in SA. The museum looks interesting. Heavy handed cops are a pain in many parts of Africa.

    In one job I had, I sent law journals to a law professor in Gaborone, so I wanted to see what the place was like--Not bad! Good work here, DAO! Very informative and good pictures too!

    Great to see and hear about Botswana. I lived there in the 80s and loved it but sadly havent been back yet. Thanks for the memories and the update. Gaborone has grown but the Mall is still the same.
