| | The other side of the valley The other side of the valley is a long journey in distance and heat from the entrance, but worth the travel. This is a picture of just some of the tombs, viewed from the High Place. Along the trail leading there you can find small parts of decorated pottery and the odd remains of a Bedouin Barbeque. I found what looked to be a roasted donkey in one tomb. You need a very good torch to see inside as many of these tombs have multiple rooms set far into the hillside. Watch your step as some hills are deceptively slippery. Take a lot of water as the donkey rides and local guides don't usually go this far around the valley. |
