HAFEZ HOTEL: GOOD LOCATION, GREAT PRICE
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • This budget hotel is well situated to a lot of attractions and shopping. It is also set off the main road and is thankfully quiet, which is very rare in Tehran. The staff were friendly and I negotiated a small discount when I checked in. The restaurant is ok food wise, but great service. My room had 2 reasonable beds, a western toilet, shower, shampoo and soap provided, remote control TV and a large fridge for cold drinks.

I was impressed with the location and price and would recommend this hotel for budget travellers. This is the best budget hotel in Tehran.

    HOTEL KHAYYAM: OK BUDGET HOTEL
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • This hotel is OK. Not great, just OK. You get a reasonable price, a clean room and a basic Iranian toilet and shower. You don’t pay a lot, so don’t expect too much. The staff were nice and the one meal (breakfast) I had in the hotel was nice. You can reserve a room and negotiate a discount via email. The staff are pleasant and helpful and the hotel is secure. They even have a computer/internet you can use in the lobby as well as CNN on the lobby TV. I did find the location a little far to walk to everything though.

    Unique Qualities:
It does have very good small refrigerators in the rooms for keeping cold drinks.

Actually what you say about the cars marked for women is not correct... women must not use them, they can if they want. In fact I saw just as many women in the normal cars than in the women's cars. I always used the normal cars, like many other women

Great page of Teheran. I received a postcard of Azadi Tower and so was very glad to read about its historic significance from your tip. Thanks for sharing. SL :)
