Just staying here for a bit of work and playing in the snow...note that when the snow melts, so might the charm of Ostrava. It is very industrial. Many people boast about Stodolni street, which has somewhere between 15 and 60 pubs, depending on who you talk with. You can usually catch something open there, even if the atmosphere is doubtful. There are loads of 24hour pubs scattered throughout Ostrava too. Ostrava beer has nothing on Radegast though, or other famous czech beers. Try to get to the Beskydy mountains nearby where the skiing is quite good and cheap.
