I lived in the area from August 1994 to September 1999. In a lot of ways it's like no other place on earth. In a lot of other ways, you kind of have to be grateful for that fact. I mean I miss it, and I want to go back to visit. Sometimes I wish I hadn't left, sometimes I'm glad I did, but I never wish I hadn't gone. The picture is of a tire I destroyed trying to drive to the Arctic Circle in the summer of 1996. I didn't make it that trip, but I did make it two years later. |

Alaskaland is NOT a tourist trap. If one were to spend any amount of time there, they would find that there is alot of history about Fairbanks. The food there is not meant to be period food. It is a great place for young and old alike. |
