Yu Gardens are a wonderful example of Chinese garden art. You will find little ponds, trees, rocks all designed in a special manner - it is a delightful piece of earth right in the middle of a buzzling city. Don't miss it!

In Shanghai you have two old parts of the town: an older one, with narrow streets, old houses with no sanitary facilities, water tabs only on the street and a rich social life as it seems. This part of Shanghai won't be around for too long, because it is right in the center of Shanghai - and that's where the companies would like to be, too! So if you have a chance - do go and see it!

The new old town has more shopping facilities, food stalls, broader streets, but still some of the old town atmosphere

The skyline of Shanghai is a fabulous view - no matter from where you look! Of course, the view from the Bund acrosse the Huang Pu river is the most spectacular, but it is great from any other place as well!!

13.5 million people! That makes it over 20 times the size of Frankfurt. And I imagine they have added another million or so since you were there. Nice night and skyline photos! |
