This was my first trip to Africa ever!!! And it was the beginning of a lifelong fascination!!! We went from the Senegal through Mali across the Sahara through Algeria all the way to Tunis and I had the time of my life!

I was so fascinated by the colors there, by the laughter of the people and couldn't get enough looking at those wonderful women, who are graceful, cheerful and strong although they definitely don't have an easy life!

I took quite a few pictures and later put them into my theme calendar "Women of the World". If you like, have a look at the travellogue!

I just saw yesterday on the TV a presentation on Mali and the Dogon country. Your page reminds it very well. Your picture of sunset on the Niger is superb! I like also the picture of people in their daily life!

Thanks for all the great info on Mali! I'm considering including it in a North Africa trip next year.
