Hopping across the border

When I was visiting my friend Natalie in Arizona, I asked her to take me to Mexico for a day.

The only reason was, that I wanted to be able to say:

I have been to Mexico!

And I was there!!!

We crossed the border to Nogales, Mexico, looked around for about one hour and went back to the USA.

And the upsetting part was:
They didn't even stamp my passport!

I do hope you someday have an opportunity to really visit Mexico - not those dirty border towns, nor the glitzy beach resorts - but Mexico. It's charming and colorful, sometimes challenging, but always interesting.

You must make a special request for a passport stamp at Nogales. I got one and it's not very pretty. I was lucky to travel with a Spanish speaking amigo and he insisted on getting one. We learned that they're just lazy and don't want to bother doing it.
