I was a highschool exchange student with Youth for Understanding in 1974/75
and lived in Walterboro, S.C. for one year.
That is quite an experience for a 16 year old girl to fly to another continent and be part of a family in a country with a different language, a different culture and people who you don't really know yet... But I really enjoyed this experience and would not want to miss it one bit.
In 1980 I returned for a short visit and that is when I got the only few pictures of my temporary home town! And this second visit being more than 20 years ago as well might explain the poor quality of the pix - but I hope you don't mind! |
