KSC olé olé Karlsruher Sport Club Review

The local soccer club of Karlsruhe is called the KSC - Karlsruher Sport Club. They have had their ups and downs during the past decade, but their fans are great and support their team - no matter how good or bad they play.

This season (2006/2007) the KSC has done exceptionally well, so we have high hopes that they might make it to the 1st division again next season!

Equipment: The local stadium is called Wildpark Stadion and it will be rebuilt/renovated shortly. It can seat over 30000 people so far and is mainly used for soccer matches.

Directions: the Wildpark Stadion is located in the forest area behind the Karlsruhe palace - a 10 minute walk from the palace. Just follow the crowds.....

Cycling Race/Paarzeitfahren

It is always the weekend after the Tour de France, that we have this bicycle race here in Karlsruhe. Usually the best teams of the Tour will come and race through the streets of Karlsruhe. It is always a big event! This year 200000 spectators were watching!!!

Boule

Boule is a sport originating in France. You have two teams who try to throw a metal ball as close to a little wooden ball (the "piggy") as possible. The team with the closest ball wins.

It is not only fun to play, but also to watch the players!

In front of the Karlsruhe Schloß you will be able to find players almost all year around! They even have turnaments there every once in awhile.
