I went on a three week tour through Syria and Jordan in 1997.

Three weeks is quite some time, so we had plenty of opportunity to travel around and see and experience a lot of Syria and Jordan.

My friend and I had our very own "research project": we compared felafel throughout the country! What a wonderful and delicious project!

You're right, it's a bad habit of mine to remember the trains more than the towns! I like the way you put a summary of your trip in a travelogue & your descriptions of each town bring back memories for me.

What a fascinating and intriguing country. Those water wheels are incredible for their age. What a step back in time some of these areas are. Wonderfully described in a great page.

Wonderful update, Christine. I love that copper market in Aleppo - this would be a fantastic place for me to go shopping!
