    • The Wasserturn is the landmark of Mannheim. It was constructed at the end of the 19th century and was heavily destroyed during World War II. After the war it was rebuilt and has been a listed building since 1987.

    • There are many museums in Mannheim and they do have excellent exhibitions. Since interests differ so much, I advise you to get information at the tourist info and then enjoy art, historical exhibitions, modern art, cultural exposures or other things!

    • Although Mannheim is an industrial city which has been destroyed to a great extent during WW II, you can still find wonderful architecture in the city itself. To understand a little about the history and consequently the destructions and rebuildings of many of the Mannheim buildings, do have a look here.

     Germans, too ,can get lost in the "Quadrate", when they're new here - it happened to me when I had just come to Mannheim. Come back next year, for the birthday party (400 years), when hopefully!!! all the construction work is done.    		cnango Sat Jul 29, 2006 06:48 UTC
