Industrial city with quite a bit of history! Mannheim is a rather industrial city, but it does have a few nice things to offer: a castle, the water tower, great shopping opportunities and quite a few nice museums.
It was here that Carl Benz drove in his first automobile and Mozart lived in this city for a while - not bad, right?
Mannheim is not too far away from Karlsruhe, but I usually only encounter it as the place where I have to change trains.... But one day in 2002, hubby and I decided to go visit - and thinking about it, we should do that again one day, since there are also some really nice VT members living in Mannheim!!! |
