The nice thing was, that I experienced that wonderful town in March, when it was still very cold and in September! And I really enjoyed it both times! The vicinity of Lake Baikal is wonderful, but the town itself is quite nice as well!

Hi Christine, it's great that you had two Transsiberian Train tours. This looks like an interesting place to stop over right in the middle of the trip.

Irkutsk doesn't look real... it looks like a legendary place...
