While visiting Dresden, we went on a day trip to Meissen, which is close by.
All I knew was, that there is this world famous Meissen porcelaine/china manufacture - I didn't know, that Meissen is a wonderful medieval town in a wonderful landscape.

Fascinating see the birthplace of the crossed swords porcelain. It looks delightful. Didn't Steinbeck once write a book about the place? 'Of Meissen Men'?! |
