Meeting my Polish "sister" | with Karolina and her parents on Rynek square |
We had booked this trip to Krakow in summer of 2005,
because I really wanted to go back to this beautiful city
which I had visited before in 1983.
It was a mere coincidence, when we found out later that year,
that my Polish "sister" Karolina - the bone marrow recipient from 2003 -
lived only 80 km away from Krakow! So of course we decided to meet and
that meeting made Krakow the most special place ever!
We spent a whole day together, talking, exchanging stories, eating,
drinking, sightseeing, laughing and crying
- but those were tears of joy! |
