Public Transportation Strippenkaart NOT VALID FROM AUG 2009! Review

You can get all over the city by tram, bus, metro and local train for a reasonable fare. The Strippenkaart (a "carnet" of tickets) can be used on all forms of transport. You can buy them in the offices of the city transport authority GVB at the Central Station, Stationsplein 15, in the Scheepvaarthuis, Prins Hendrikkade 108, at Amstel Station and in all post offices and tobacconists.

With a day ticket you can use all public transport for a whole day. They can be bought from the GVB office or at the tourist office.

Train CENTRAAL STATION (CS) - Central Train Station Review

Amsterdam International Station (CS) is linked to the EuroCity rail network. . The station is for one a beautiful building from the end of the 19th century plus it is located in the center of the city right next door to the Amsterdam Tourist Office VVV. You can get trams and buses from the stops in front of the station building to almost every district in the city.

Bicycle Bicycle / Cycling Review

I have rarely seen so many bicycles as I have in Holland - and they are EVERYWHERE!!!

Watch out for them on the streets as well as a car driver, but also as a pedestrian!

If you have a chance, do rent a bicycle and discover Amsterdam that way! It is fun!!!
