I'll remember it the "old" way....
Fertile, self-sufficient Naxos is not yet as developed for tourism as neighboring Paros (which is good!!), but it's working hard to catch up (which I kind of regret). Naxos grows and exports olives, grapes, and potatoes throughout the Aegean, and until recently showed little interest in promoting itself as a tourist destination. But as I heard and read, this all has changed in the past 10 years.............
I remember Naxos - my favourite Greek island, which I have visited twice in the past - in the old way and I am so happy that I got to know it when it was not so popular amongst fellow tourists!!! |
