I'll remember it the "old" way....

Fertile, self-sufficient Naxos is not yet as developed for tourism as neighboring Paros (which is good!!), but it's working hard to catch up (which I kind of regret). Naxos grows and exports olives, grapes, and potatoes throughout the Aegean, and until recently showed little interest in promoting itself as a tourist destination. But as I heard and read, this all has changed in the past 10 years.............

I remember Naxos - my favourite Greek island, which I have visited twice in the past - in the old way and I am so happy that I got to know it when it was not so popular amongst fellow tourists!!!

yes, tourists have arrived but Naxos is still a beautiful island.

This small island is very attractive for tourism, I believe. The Portara seems to be a wonderful sight! Pity that it's the only remains of an ancient Temple of Apollo. Thanks Christine for the virtual tour!

Nice Naxos Page :-) Don't worry, its still a nice place and one of the few Islands in the Cyclades not totally dependent on tourism to make its money. Outside of Naxos town, you can quickly lose the crowds!

what a wonderful trip....the Gardens and Beaches of Naxos, ...aber ich wollte immer mal nach Lesbos.!!
