The Faroe Islands consist of 18 islands (one of them uninhabited) and are home to 45000 people. They are halfway between Iceland and Norway and lie in the middle of the Gulf Stream.

We went there on our way to Spitsbergen - after having visited Fair Isle we arrived in Torshavn the next day.

We visited Torshavn, Boer and did a wonderful hike in Saksun.

I learned so much about the Faroe Islands and appreciate your practical, helpful tips. Enjoyed reading about the small towns and villages, the grass roofs, the harbour, and Vestmanna Sound. Beautiful photos.

I love the fluffy sheep. Fabulous page about the Faroe Islands. When I was in Thurso (Scotland) I saw some fishing boats from the Faroe Islands unloading the fish.

Hi nice looking at your pages and pics! I absolutely loved the Faroes when i visited 2000 - i couldnt leave so soon and had to wait for another boat a few days or week later!!thx.
