  just saw your TRAM tip on front page of VT. Love it. We're renting an old trolley for our house tour in Sept. in my village. These old trams, trolleys,& horse and carriages all add so much color to a town. I'd love to take a ride on yours in Lisbon.

  I am going to Lisbon in June and will check the trams out. Melbourne has a very good tram service for public transport. Infact some of the new ones are smooth as trains. But they have restored the old ones and use them for tourists around the city.

  This is true - trains to Sintra can also be caught from the Entrecampos station, which is near several major hotels and the Metro. Most guidebooks still mention Rossio - that's the advantage of sites like this!
