We found this hidden gem more or less by chance:
we had won an ebay auction (a wonderful sofa, which we had to pick up in a place near Tübingen), so we decided to not just go and get the sofa, but to spend a little time in Tübingen itself. And boy, were we happy about this decision!
Tübingen is a university town with a beautiful old city center, lots of half timbered houses, old buildings, churches, small streets and a lot of university life going on!

|  | Although we went in the middle of the summer, we were not really that lucky with the weather. Well, thinking about it, we were lucky, because it only rained a tiny little bit while we were walking around, but it sure started pouring after we returned to the car!!!
And despite the rain and the grey sky, Tübingen was so colorful! The shops, the people, the flowers - I really liked it a lot! |

The view from the tower is fascinating and definitely worth a climb. Excellent pictures for such a rainy day you describe in your intro. |
