To the left of the reception in the main building of the af Chapman Youth Hostel you will find a little pub. It is quite cozy and the staff is extremely helpful and nice! The menue is simple and food is typical youth hostel type: meatballs, spaghetti, chili con carne - but what we had was really good!

In the summer they also have outside seating with a fabulous view of the ship and Gamla Stan!

Favorite Dish: As a starter we had the "Svensk tapas" - delicious Swedish appetizers including smoked salmon, herring, cheese, ham, smorrebrod (and what was left we got to take with us!)

My main dish was traditional Swedish meatballs served with gravy, mashed potatoes and lingonberries and my husband enjoyed his spaghetti carbonara just as much!

Kaffekoppen

Kaffekoppen (which means coffee cup) is both a café and a place where you can have a great lunch. We went there every day, but only chose to have a hot chocolate. The food we saw looked really good and people seemed to enjoy it a lot!

You can both sit outside and inside. Outside has benches and little stools and wooden tables (and blankets, if it is cold) and the inside is very rustic as well. They have a cellar, which is very cosy but really dark!

The staff is very friendly and the location in the middle of Gamla Stan is superb!

Favorite Dish: the hot chocolate!!!

YH Skeppsholmen/af Chapman: Breakfast with a view

Breakfast is not included when sleeping in the Youth Hostel, but they do offer a fantastic breakfast for an additional 70 Swedish crowns. It is a buffet style breakfast with cereals, different yoghurts, cheese, ham, salami, eggs, pickles, some veggies, bread rolls, toast, smorrebrod, coffee, tea, juice, milk - a great start for the day!

You have to buy the voucher at the reception and I think only guests of the youth hostel are eligable.
