Getting TO/AROUND: Rome has at least two airports that I know of: - Fiumicino or Leonardo da Vinci airport for airlines like Alitalia or our carrier Germanwings - Ciampino for Ryan Air and other carriers. Do make sure to check out, which airport you will be flying into!

Getting TO/AROUND: After we arrived in Rome, we were quite surprised to find a sign with a Germanwings Shuttle Bus Service, which took us directly from Fiumicino Airport to Stazione Termini. they charged 8€ one way, 12,50 € return - which was even less than the regular train ticket would have cost us! Going back from Termini to the airport you must watch out to get on the right bus, because there are different airports in Rome and the different airlines fly into the different airports. If you don't watch out, you might have an unpleasant surprise!!!

Category: Subway/Metro
Getting TO/AROUND: Although Rome only has two Metro lines (namely linea A and linea B), we found the public transportation in Rome very well organized and helpful. There are trams, buses and minibuses that will take you to every place you want to! A single ticket costs 1 € and you can use it for 75 minutes. A daily ticket costs 4 € and you can use it until midnight of the day of use. A weekly ticket costs 16 €. Tickets can be obtained at vending machines, in kiosks or tabaccherias. Make sure to stamp the ticket as soon as you get into the bus or tram!

HORSCHECK Sun Feb 3, 2008 18:11 UTC Tini, how many men gave you yellow mimosas on March 8th? *winkygrin* Great accomodation tip and the pizza at Da Baffetto looks indeed tasty, although I already had a better one in Egg-Leo. | Roadquill Mon Oct 8, 2007 03:48 UTC Great tips on Rome. My wife's nick name is also tini and she is also an artist. Looks like you had a great time, Karl | Maurizioago Fri Oct 5, 2007 09:43 UTC I had another look at your Rome page.
