Street Vendors: Hunja at Hassan's
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • Restaurant Name: Street Vendors

Favorite Dish: Hunja is a hot - and I mean hot! tea made out of ginseng with cloves, ginger and cinnamon and probably a handful of other spices. Delicious, especially on a cold evening! It is usually served together with some sort of chocolate cake, which was not quite my kind of taste, but an adventure nevertheless!

Don't miss hunja while you are in Marrakesh! We enjoyed it at Hassan's stall Nr. 70 at the Djemaa el Fna!

    Local Cuisine: Tajine
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • Restaurant Name: Local Cuisine

Favorite Dish: Tajine is Morocco's favourite dish and it is usually served on an earthenware platter with a triangular lid on top of it! It is a sort of stew made from vegetables and meats and when we had a tajine, we had a mutton tajine! It surely was lovely and VERY delicious!

    El Andalous: Hotel cuisine
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • Restaurant Name: El Andalous

Since we had booked a hotel with breakfast and dinner, we ate at the hotel restaurant 3 out of 4 nights!

The food consisted of a buffet of starters - fried eggplant, sliced tomatos, tuna fish salad - you name it, they got it!

In addition they had warm meals - usually 3 different types and some delicious desserts!

The food was good, but not exceptional, I guess it was regular hotel food, but I won't complain!

Many fantastic pictures and great tips. I like especially first warning tip and the one on Argan oil! Well, I miss Djemma el Fna and hunja now :-)
