The second time was in 1977, when I went on an Interrail tour with a school friend of mine! We had 1 1/2 days in Paris and I guess we made the most of it...
This was the last trip that I was able to take with my Dad -
and it was a truly enjoyable one!
My Dad showed me around "his" Paris
and shared the places he liked with me!
He invited me to wonderful restaurants,
took me to his favorite antique shops
and even discovered new places to enjoy!
Building this page makes me happy, nostalgic and a little sad,
but how does this saying go:
"Don't complain about what you lost, rather be thankful for everything you ever had!"
And I am very thankful for this experience to stroll through Paris with my Dad!
The picture shows a street lamp next to Notre Dame cathedral -
and that is the topic of my theme calendar 2003.

Ten years later I went there again! Actually it was this crazy idea to meet a VT friend there who had come all the way from Chicago (plus get to know another friend from Louisville, KY)! I looked through some travel deals and decided to go! My husband decided to join me, so this was a nice little trip! Plus we attended a lovely VT meeting at the Train Bleu on Saturday!
The weather was lousy, I was sick, but still enjoyed those 1 1/2 days!
With the highspeed train TGV now stopping in Karlsruhe, we just had to try that and did the 3 hour journey in 2010. This time we stayed at an apartment and walked, walked, walked through all Paris!!! My feet and bones were hurting, but boy, did we have fun!

Tini, excellent page about your several trips to Paris. Great collection of street lamps as well. Can you believe that my last proper visit of Paris was back in the very late 1980's?
my favorite view of Notre Dame is also from Ile Saint Louis!
Very good page! I hope to visit Paris next year for the VT meeting. Ciao!
I am currently writing about parts of Paris guidebooks steer you away from; one being around the gares du Nord and Est. Can I mention your page as I don't have a picture on mine. Thanks, Flying.Scotsman
I like your annual "calendars", particularly street lamps. I have similar collections in my homepage travelogues (arches, lamps, faces and wings). Cheers from NYC.
Very impressive page! You have seen a lot of this world!
Excellent page! Musee d'Orsay is one of my favorite. I also loved the flair of the former railway station.
Enjoyed your Paris pages, you seem to have covered most of the sights. I was there in Aug 2006 and the weather was lousy and wet too. But had a wonderful time. Tim·:*¨`*:·~My§ticÄl~·:*."
Great Paris overview Christine. I am now itching to return to Paris!
terrific page - some of your secondary photos are great. Nice memories for me. Thanks for sharing. Email on another topic. N>
