UNESCO World Heritage Site Chiloé is an archipelago which consists of 40 islands, 35 of them being inhabited. The people who live here are very friendly and have their own identity. They have a very special own mythology, folklore, their own cuisine and they live in a place that calls 150 wooden churches their own. These churches have been built by Jesuit missionaries during the 18th and 19th century and are now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Unfortunately we only had a few hours time to visit, but we did get a nice overall view of what Chiloe has to offer - and I would LOVE to go back and explore some more! . |
