Unique artwork at Barkenhoff - Worpswede

Worpswede is situated some 25 km northeast of Bremen in the midst of Devil's Moor. It became widely known as an "artists' colony" starting at the end of the 19th century: artists like Heinrich Vogeler, Otto Modersohn, Paula Modersohn-Becker, Rainer Maria Rilke and Clara Rilke Westhoff lived here and founded the tradition of Worpswede, which has been maintained unitl today.

As a teen, I hated Worpswede because my parents always insisted I join them on their boring walks... now I'd really like to re-visit. :-) Thanks for putting it on the VT map!
