    Canoeing (traineras) is a traditional sport in all the fishing towns of North Spain, mainly in Cantabria and the Basque Country. There are competitions where the different cities and towns can measure their strength. In spite of the fact that they seem to be more popular in the Basque Country than in anywhere elese, Castro-Urdiales has been the most powerful team in the last years.
