Namur is the capital city of Wallonia, a capital status that makes it look a bit more cosmopolitan than its mere 125.000 inhabitants would suggest. It is beautifully located on the banks of two rivers, the Sambre and the Meuse, and presided by an old fortress from where to have the best views over the city.

Being so easily accessible from Brussels, we have been here a couple of times when we felt like having a romantic weekend but without really travelling a long way. We have always found good shopping, hiking opportunities in the beautiful surroundings and a delicious gastronomy.
