The best option to stay in León is the Parador of San Marcos. The building itself is an old Renaissance hospital that has been declared national monument. The furniture in the rooms is demanding some renewal, but it is a very good place, sith impressive lounges and a beautiful cloister. Make sure you get a suite in what they call the 'ala noble', i.e. the old part of the building, because many rooms are in an annexed building which does not have any charm at all.
