"Toledo, the Imperial city." Toledo by DanielF

Toledo Travel Guide: 706 reviews and 1,937 photos

Of all the historical cities in Spain, Toledo is probably the worst treated by tourism. Its wealth in art treasures and the easy access from Madrid make of Toledo the favorite destination as a daytrip from the capital. For this reason, the city suffers from an invasion of daytrippers during the high season. Only a few of them go far beyond the tacky souvenir shops and experience a significant part of the many things the city has to offer. No matter how enjoyable it is to stay in the surface, it is also true that hurry and pleasure are antagonic concepts in this city.

Your compact page makes a giant impression. *Hurry + pleasure* are so often antagonistic concepts, no one else could have verbalized the problem this way though. The pinky-blue of the fading sun dusts over the city in a fairytale view here, sigh... ;-)
